Они служат для предоставления консультаций и поддержки всех мероприятий по связям с общественностью и СМИ, предпринятых официальными партнерами, спонсорами и лицензиатами, и являются ключевым контактом для спонсоров по вопросам СМИ и коммуникаций.

ОКОИ может учредить функциональное подразделение, занимающееся всеми аспектами маркетинговых коммуникаций.

Marketing communications exist to manage the effective communications of all OCOG marketing strategies, activities and events. It serves to advise and support all public and media relations activities undertaken by official partners, sponsors and licensees and to be the key sponsors' contact for media and communications issues.

Supporting the public relations and media objectives of the marketing partners. This function of the OCOG is responsible for providing key public relations, advertising, and media relations support to the marketing partners before and during the Games time, and is responsible for the interface for marketing partners and their operations at the main media center during the Games time. The OCOG may establish a functional area dealing with marketing communications aspects.
